How UKDriving.uk collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Who We Are
UKDriving.uk ("we", "us", "our") is an independent online resource providing free Theory Test practice for learner drivers in the United Kingdom. We are not affiliated with the DVSA, DVA, or any government body.
2. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to operate the website:
- Server logs: Your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps are automatically recorded by our web server. These logs are used for security and performance monitoring and are retained for up to 30 days.
- Contact form: If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and message. This is used solely to respond to your query.
- Local storage: We store your selected region (e.g. England, Scotland) in your browser's local storage so it is remembered between visits. This data never leaves your device.
- Analytics: We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) and may use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, device type). This data does not identify individual users.
3. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:

5. Third-Party Services
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics: Anonymised usage tracking. Google's privacy policy applies — see policies.google.com/privacy.
- Bootstrap CDN (jsDelivr): JavaScript and CSS served from jsDelivr's CDN. Their privacy policy applies.
6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your personal data
- Object to processing of your data
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your rights have been violated

7. Data Retention
Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days. Contact form emails are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Analytics data is anonymised and retained per Google's standard retention settings.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
